Windows XP MCE 2005 Edition CD

Ganesh.

I bought the Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 OS with my Desktop
purchase. Now, I want to re-install the operating system but unfortunately I
misplaced/lost my XP MCE CD.

I still have the valid License Key of the OS its just that I don't have the
CD. How can I get the OS CD alone? I called my Desktop Manufacturer but they
are charging me for a replacement CD. I don't want to pay since I have the
license key. Please advise.

No way around it . Your OS is an OEM CD and only your computer manufacturer has it.

You have a few options, buy it from your PC mfg, buy a new license from an
online vendor such as Newegg, borrow a Microsoft OEM copy from someone you
know, download a copy via torrent and take your chances that it isn't
riddled with malware/trojans.
