Need to reinstall XPSp2, no CD's.

Hi, I got a message that says" Files that are required for Windows to run
properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system
stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert
your Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD's now".
I dont think I have any CD's for that. I Believe I downloaded it from the
website. Help. Also the website gave me the Error 0X800A1385 when I tried
to check there for whatever automatic updates have been installed recently.
While reading here on the many questions, I found there is a SP#3 Ugh...????

The process is looking for the CD with WinXP with SP2 integrated into the
installation CD.

Depending on where you got your PC you may or may not have the CD. Some
systems, such as Dell, come with a restore partition to make your system
look like it just came out of the box (and deleting everything in the
process). Others come with restore CDs that are an image and will restore
your PC like Dell's restore partition.

In any event, look for a folder on your drive called i386, most likely in
the root of C: (c:\i386) This could probably be used instead of the actual
install CD.

Good Luck
