Slipstream XPSP2 using XP Pro upgrade CD?

Can I slipstream XPSP2 using an XP Pro upgrade CD?
If so, is the procedure different than for a full install CD?

I tried to follow instructions at eldergeek.com
(http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm).
All went fine until burning the CD (using Roxio EasyCD 5), when I got a
warning saying:
"The directory "I386\ASMS\52\POLICY\MSFT\WINDOWS\NETWOR~1\DXMRTP\DXMRTP.CAT"
exceeds the maximum depth of directories (8). This may cause problems reading
the CD in some operating systems. Do you wish to continue?"
.... so I cancelled.

Is the dir structure wrong because I'm using an upgrade CD?

Yes you can, there is no difference.

Great. Then my next question: Is the warning I got okay to ignore,
i.e., is it okay that some files on the slipstream version exceed the
max directory depth, or should I try to correct that somehow?
(and if so, how?)

No it's not, it's the same on the Retail CD.

I've always used this for Slipstreaming:
Latest version AutoStreamer 1.0.33

I don't have any experience seeing that error so I can't say. But if it
were me I would continue with it. Then test it.

You're right, I didn't think to look, but now I see the extracted XP SP2
has the
same dir structure. Weird that I can't find anyone posts mentioning that
warning.
Maybe I'd better start overt from scratch. This time I'll try using your
2nd link
which has instructions for the exact version of Roxio I have. Thanks!

You can ignore this warning the CD will be fine.
See this link: Langa Letter: How To Save An Hour (Or More) On XP Installs

http://www.informationweek.com/security/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=47212312&pgno=1&queryText=

On page four:
Step 16: The final dialog then opens, and offers a few last choices. If
they're not already selected, select "Record CD" under "Record Options," and
"Disc-at-Once" under "Record Methods." Click OK, and you're done!

Note that the burning software may complain about the "folder depth" being
too many levels deep--ignore this warning, as it has no effect on the
usability of this CD.
