Slipstream SP2?

I followed the instructions from
www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm to slipstream WinXP Pro
retail & SP2. I copied the XP CD to a folder = 535MB. Next I downloaded the
full Network Install of SP2 = 326MB. After extracting and integrating XP and
SP2 I have a file that is 777MB. How can you fit 777MB on a 700MB disc?

Go to www.autopatcher.com and downlaod it and their program AutoStreamer
version 1.0.33. Follow the instruction for AutoStreamer and it will do the
Slipstreaming by making a file that can be burned directly by your CD
burning program.

AutoPatcher is a different program that you can use to verify all HotFixes,
patches, etc.

I used the SP2 download from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

which is the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package
for IT Professionals and Developers who's file name is:

WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe

and is 266MB in size.

I used my OEM XPHome SP1 disk and the instructions given at:

www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm

and used NERO for the burn.

The Burning process left me with a single bootable CD containing 579MB
of data.

I later needed to do a complete system restoration and used the new
slipstreamed CD and everything went just fine... Just like the
restorations did with my original XPHome SP1 CD except with the SP2
stuff already part of the restoration/installation.

According to the instructions from theeldergeek you do. I used their own
link for the download.
I used the SP2 download from:

Me too. See above.

Exactly what I got. 266MB
I used my OEM XPHome SP1 disk and the instructions given at:
www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm

I used my retail XP Pro CD
and used NERO for the burn.

I use Nero v6
The Burning process left me with a single bootable CD containing 579MB
of data.

I could not burn, the file size was too large, =777MB
I later needed to do a complete system restoration and used the new
slipstreamed CD and everything went just fine... Just like the
restorations did with my original XPHome SP1 CD except with the SP2
stuff already part of the restoration/installation.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad the restore worked.

You dont burn the files you use the Microsoft Corporation.img file to burn
keep the original sp2 file out of the xp directory

So that is what he was doing. I wondered since mine fit just fine on
a single CD and is working fine. He didn't explain that he wasn't
following the instructions....
