Slipstreamed CD

I have made a slipstreamed CD using my Dell OEM Windows XP SP1 CD and the MS SP2 CD.
The slipstreaming process has gone smoothly with no error messages.
However, when I boot from the slipstreamed CD and attempt to do a repair reinstall of Windows XP, I get this error message about halfway through the process;

The file in question is copied from the SP2 CD. The full path is;

ReadFile
"F:\i386\asms\52\POLICY\MSFT\WINDOWS\NETWORKING\RTCDLL\RTCDLL.MAN" returned
error 87: The parameter is incorrect.

I can copy the file from the SP2 CD to my HDD without problems, but when it is on the slipstreamed CD it cannot be copied.
I have now made two slipstreamed CDs, one using the Microsoft method and the other using a program called AutoStreamer.
I have the same problem with both slipstreamed CDs.

Has anyone struck this problem before?

Hi

You may not be able to create a slipstreamed SP2 with an OEM CD as the
supplier may have added/deleted various options. Try the following link,
although you may very well get the same outcome:

What crappy picture - I don't see any.

There was a binary that was a picture included in your original post.
You probably uploaded the post in HTML format - never a good idea for
USENET.

Okay, you got me, I'll confess all! <s>

I originally typed up the message with a picture of the error message and
meant to save it in my Drafts folder but instead saved it in the Outbox. Of
course, it got sent before I could change it. However, after a day it did
not show up on the Newsgroup and I assumed that the server had blocked it.
So, I removed the picture and posted a second time.

I'll try and be more careful in future.

Happy New Year
