Need some help.

I installed Grokster today for about ten minutes. I looked at it, then
uninstalled it, and ran Ad-Aware with the latest database of programs.

Once I was through, I rebooted, and now I get two errors consistently
1) Cannot create input socket, error 10106: unknown error code
2) My spam inspector keeps saying it cannot initialize because Port 110
is in use.

Ran Norton 2002, and it doesn't find anything.

I went to the Spam Inspector website, and they gave instructions on how to
see what program was using port 110, but none appeared to be.

Anything easy can be done for this, or do I just need to redo the drive and
get rid of all the junk?

Thanks!

Try SpyBot Search&Destroy www.security.kolla.de

If that doesn't solve the problem, do a system restore to
before you installed Grokster.

Ed,

IIWY, I'd go with Spybot S&D and HijackThis to recheck AA findings.
SWI Forums has lots of advice about crapware like Grokster. Start
here:

Spam Inspector sounds like a great product. NOT. The program says
Port 110 in use, but the website (with further instructions) says
Nope. Whazzup with that?

Get Port Explorer (free version) from
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/portexplorer/index.php?page=home
If anything is hooked to Port 110, or any port for that matter, it'll
show you.

Cheers,

Chuck
I hate spam - PLEASE get rid of the spam before emailing me!
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Will do!

Thanks, and as for doing a restore, I tried multiple ones, and it keeps
telling me nothing has changed that I'm reinstalling.

Really odd.
