Need key code

I bought a windows xp home edition through ebay. When I
tried to put it on the key code expired. I had to call
microsoft just to get it in the computer but I didnt
wr4ite it down. They told me I need to get in touch with
you to get a new key code. Can you help me?

Key codes are unique, and to the best of my knowledge do not ever expire.
You will need to contact Microsoft, not the messageboard. If you try to use
someone else's keycode, it will register as a pirated copy - you would
probably not be able to activate the software.

Do you have the original CD with the edge to edge hologram?
Do you have the original Product Key?
Do you have the original documentation and packaging?
If no to any of the above, you may not have a legal copy.

Were you able to activate on the phone?
If yes, you should be OK.
If no, did you buy OEM?
OEM is normally permanently tied to the first computer installed and
can never be transferred regardless the condition of the original
computer.
If you bought OEM second-hand, you bought a coaster and not Windows.
