own two XP pro codes which do I use?

I had a dell computer whose mother board went bad. I got a gateway on
eBay. Both computers have Xp Pro stickers on them. I want to get back
and just use my Dells hard drive with all its applications and my
personal file again without all the messing around with installation
and recovery of the files. When I put the dells hard drive in as the
master in the gateway it booted but asked to be authorized by calling
an automated number. I hung up the phone at that point and formulated
this question to you all. If I give them the long number it had on the
computer will it spit back a number and things will work? Or if it
does not and ask me to put in the product key code which one do I use
the Dells which was the original install disks used to actually
install the OS on this moved hard drive. Or the key code that is on
the gateway. I validly own both codes now. Does it make a difference
which one I use and if I use obviously only one could I use the other
in the future to install a copy of xp from my dell cds onto a computer
with or without a valid windows key code sticker on it? Since I own
two key codes am I not allowed to run then on any computer brand I
choose? And yes I know some drivers may need to be fooled with. The
gateway has no cds with it for installation.

You need to do a new install on the Gateway on it HD,
use it Xp Pro stickers if needed,
afterwards you can move the personal file from the old dell HD

You reinstall,
now you have to make that call.......

I don't have any xp installer cds for the gateway so am I out of luck
getting the dells hd installed xp to work as the boot drive in the
gateway it has a cleaned off hard drive with no bootable system on it
as of now.

You can use the Dells installed xp,
With the gateway valid windows key code sticker will work,
But you have to go to gateway for the Drives..
