Dude

I was going to install Windows XP Pro but in the middle
of installation I decided that I was going to install
Windows XP Home edition. How do I format the hard drive
so I can install Windows XP Home Edition?

Well

1) Make sure you set your bios with first boot by CDROM
2) you should insert Win XP Home Edition into CD and
reboot your computer and press "Enter" key if asked to
boot by CDROM
3 you should select "install a fresh copy..blah.." do not
try to select "Repair....blah" option
4) you should select drive labeled with letter C to
install windows
5) you should select a full format in NTFS rather
selecting "Quick format"
6) just accept default after that.
