Hi there. Can anyone please help me. I had a major prob
with PC resulting in wiping off everything on the hard
drive. I used the restore discs and now have XP
installed.I have the desk top screen but NO TASK BAR at
the bottom. Needless to say that I now have no START
button or clock. Please can anyone tell me how to rectify
this problem. A quick reply would be very much
appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Pauline, hope this assists

If you can, check this registry key:-
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon
Make sure userinit is pointing to c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe

otherwise
Press Control+Alt+Delete keys, (The dialog box for Windows Task Manager
opens)
Select the File menu, then New Task (Run), (The dialog box for Create New
Task opens)
Type in "Explorer" (without the quotes)
Press OK button.
Hopefully Windows Explorer restarts with the Taskbar and Start button.
