No Audio output device is installed

I had to use my restore disc for my windows vista. Since then I have no sound
. Have red x on volume and it says no audio device installed.I have treid
the uninstall and letting the computer install again , but that didnt work.
Can someone please help....

I am so lose when it comes to computers. I dont know what kind of sound
card it has .My computer is a emachine model w 3609m do you know if that
info would be on the computer somewhere... I did find where it is 32 bit
