Need help with file sharing - home network (wireless)

Can I use Windows XP's file sharing feature to share files/printers when my
desktop is wired to a wireless router - and my notebook (or laptop) has a
wireless connection to the home network. (The desktop does not have a
wireless card.)

I can connect to the Internet just fine, but after running Network Setup
Wizard on both computers (using a Dell Memory Key) I cannot see either
computer's shared folders.

Yes. Wired and wireless are completely compatible.

What connection option did you specify to the Wizard? If it detects
the router's shared Internet connection, tell it to use that
connection. Otherwise, tell it that the computers connect to the
Internet through a residential gateway.

Make sure that all firewall programs are configured to allow full
access by computers on the local area network.

Thanks Steve. You nailed it.

I discovered that the Norton Internet Security (that is installed on my new
Dell notebook) was blocking my WinXP Home Network from sharing files.
Fortunately once you click on the application's Personal Firewall link
(Norton Internet Security) you can easily use the WIZARD button (on the
'Networking' tab) to enable file sharing.
