sharing files?

Now that I have my new notebook computer configured much like my old desktop
one (WinXP SP3, IE7, OE6), I'd like to be able to have all my datafiles on
both computers. The desktop computer is connected to a wireless router, and
the notebook has a wireless card that makes use of that router.

I've managed to enable printer sharing, but I don't know if I also have file
sharing--or even quite what that means. I'd be grateful if someone could
point me to some good places to read about my options.

Thanks much!

Download/install Windows Live Mail, it's a relative safer application than
OE6.

Thank you, Kayman! At first I didn't understand why all your links were to
security pages, but I see now that file sharing is by its nature insecure.
I've printed off all the articles and will go through them tonight.

Thank you, Brian! I've printed a couple of the articles and will start
working through them after I deal with at least some of the security issues
that Kayman's articles noted. Seems like the more I learn the less I know...
