need advice/guidance

I'm not sure which group to post this too so please point me in the right
direction if possible. I am looking for software that would allow me to scan
a document/form into an application such as "WORD" and be able to fill in the
blanks,questions etc.
I have a bare bones OCR program that came with my all in one printer but
when I scan an uncompleted form into "Microsoft Office Document
scanning/Imaging" and then tell it too send it to "Word",it loses it's
format. I have "Works Suite 2000","Microsoft Office Tools" and XP Home.
Perhaps I already have the proper tools but don't know how to do this?
If not,are there any programs that would accomplish this?

Adobe Acrobat Pro works very well for what you are trying to do. If you
search on line for this software you can find older versions and download
them strait to your machine. You can then go to the bookstore and by the
idiots guide or other how to books for this software. I bought my software
and books for under $100.

I have used Omnipage with good results. It was a much older version I used.
I used it to scan in several books for an author so he could sell them
online. He was happy with the results.

Paperport allows you to scan a document and then fill in the blanks. It
recognizes most of the blanks automatically. There is an option to insert
blanks in case it misses any or if you want additional ones. It certainly
makes my life easier.

You can buy paperport as a standalone package or get it included with a
Visoneer scanner.
