navigate to windows newsgroups

I used to be able to navigate to the windows newsgroups by the following
path, Start/help and Support/Windows Newsgroups/Go to wndows website forum/Go
to windows newsgroups. there I could select the group I was interested in.
not anymore. When I select 'go to windows newsgroups' this now takes me to
the Windows products page. what has happened and how can I fix it. I am
running xp pro, fully updated

Not sure, but this is something you'd probably have to search on their help
pages to resolve.

Note that the CDO (web) interface to the newsgroups is clunky and not the
best way to access them anyway. I suggest you start using a newsreader
client instead.... check out the following for some help.....

The MS public news server is msnews.microsoft.com, no authentication
required, and you can subscribe to as many groups as you wish.
