Help, I'm drowning! I went to reload XP pro on a box that had been running it for years, and the setup took about 24 hours to run. It then froze on startup. I went to try to repair it with the CD ROM, and it shot back an error message that some hardware device using the file 'framebuf' was putting the computer into an endless loop.
What is the file 'framebuf', what hardware device uses it, and what must I repair or replace to get XP to complete its setup? This was a total new install on a hard drive that had just been erased and formatted (due to virus damage).
Thave me!

A google search suggest's a problem with your video card.

Thanks, MAP! My apologies for the delay for this thanks, but I've been out of town for a long time. The card used to work, but I've got so much junk from God knows whereall in that box I don't know what the heck's going on anymore! I think it's time to give my daughter my current computer and start all over!
Thanks again!
