XP Setup freezes at the device installation with 34 min remaining

XP system was hit with the blaster worm and serval OS
files were corrupted. Tried to run setup to repair OS.
The system retarted into setup and then went to device
installation but froze at 34 min remaining mark. Tried
rebooting off of CD to retart the setup but just goes back
to the same point and freezes. Went into Bios and mad
sure that the boot order had the HD last but the system
continues to go back to where setup last left off and then
freezes again.

Any Suggestions would be welcome

Try physically disconnecting all your peripheral hardware,
except mouse, keyboard and monitor.
