freeze at reinstallation

my computer is in the reinstallation limbo and i dont know what to do

it goes to installing 39 min left


at 34 min left its installing drivers


it asked me for sound driver and wouldnt continue

so i downloaded soundman.exe realtek ac'97 driver onto a floppy and gave the
address

then it stops

and when i restrt the computer it goes back to setup from 39 minutes... then
stops at 34 minutes


if i boot in safemode it says safemode cannot run setup must now restart
your computer

additions to my question:

i have Pent4 2.6 ghz
1 gb ram
abit usa motheboard
onboard sound Realtek AC'97

when i start computer it goes dierctly to setup

a > how do i quit setup
b> how do i format my disc
c> how do i add the driver because it searches for them automatically
