1 week later, 3d request, Stop XP install in Safe Mode?

Anyone have a clue on how to do this? It seems it should be simple, but I'm
at a loss! Need da help!

Due to an attempt to overwrite a bad hardware driver that prevented normal
boot up, I tried to reinstall WindowsXP. The bad driver is preventing setup
from running normally (BSOD on 'normal boot) so this attempted XP repair fix
will not
work. What I need to do now is to stop setup from continuingto install. I
can boot into
SafeMode but I immediately get a dialog that says setup cannot run in
SafeMode, please reboot. There are no other choices. Is there a method or a
place or batch file/process that I can amend to end the setup sequence from
the recovery console command line? TIA

What Andrew E always forget to tell you, is you will lose all your important
information if you follow his advice. There are steps you can take to
retreive the information before clean installing XP.

Right, thanks, I was able to 'read between the lines' on his post, but good
of you to point it out, just the same. Bottom line though, is there no way
out, short of clean install at this point, in your view?

Thanks,

For the record, I have no idea what consecounicens means. I meant to say
consensus. LOL
