2d Request: How to stop setup in Safe Mode

Anyone have a clue on how to do this? It seems it should be simple, but I'm
at a loss! Need da help!

Due to an attempt to overwrite a bad hardware driver that prevented normal
boot up, I tried to reinstall WindowsXP. The bad driver is preventing setup
from running normally (BSOD on 'normal boot) so this attempted fix will not
work. What I need to do now is to stop setup from continuing. I can boot into
SafeMode but
immediately get a dialog that says setup cannot run in SafeMode, please
reboot. There are no other choices. Is there a method or a place that I can
end the setup sequence from the recovery console command line? TIA

Booted from install CD, chose Enter to setup windows, then chose R to repair
existing windows operating system partition. During repair install, got same
BSOD I was trying to overwrite with replacement driver, rebooted to safe
mode, and now get dialog in safe mode that says setup cannot run in SafeMode,
please reboot. So, I'm now stuck in an endless loop. Need to break the setup
cycle, then continue troubleshoot for bad driver causing BSOD thereafter.
Thanks for the reply.
