xp upgrade problem

Tom Driscoll

Hello;
I am struggling with getting an old IBM Aptiva with Windows 98 installed
upgraded to xp. I have restored the IBM completely from the restore cd,
however the hard drive is an upgrade. The computer runs great, (natch since
its restored) on its original windows with the new 40 gig hard drive but I
get error messages on upgrading to xp. I just want to use it for my son's
room as a network to our main computer but am really struggling, evidently
with device drivers. Error message to follow:

Inf install failure
the parameter is incorrect
a problem has been detected and windows is shut down to prevent damage to
your computer.

This is an old IBM 2140 using '98 - not SE
Help!

You will have to go to the IBM website www.ibm.com and click on Support and
Downloads.. follow the path through for driver availability for your
machine..
