My Pictures: Thumbnail View

I've recently encountered a strange problem with: C:\Documents and
Settings\(usernam)\My Documents\My Pictures folder as displayed with
the MS Windows & Fax Viewer. When in thumbnail view (which I prefer),
the folder names or titles no longer appear under each folder.
..This only occurs with the "My Pictures" folder when I directly access
it. In the "Save As" dialog box the folder-names appear as usual. They
are also displayed if I change from "thumbnail" view to something like
"icons", "tiles" or "details". I've checked as he usual suspects in
terms of "view" and folder options, but can't find anything amiss. The
only thing of significance that I've done to the "My Pictures" folder
was deleting a large number of files after writing them to a CD.

By the way, Im using XP Home with all current updates and service packs
on a fairly new Toshiba Satellite notebook. Any thoughts?

Hi rwjazz39,

The Shift key toggles file names on and off in Thumbnails view. When you
open the My Pictures folder, go to View and set it to something other than
Thumbnails, then go to View again, and hold down the Shift key as you select
Thumbnails.

Thanks much, Patti. I have my folder-names back...

I knew it was something simple... just not obvious or readily known (at
least to me).

You're very welcome :)

It's not readily known to quite a few, as I've answered this query on
numerous occasions.
