My laptop has been performing weird lately, it wont shut down, it does
stand-by but the system would turn on automatically after it has been put on
stand-by. I did everything properly, I closed the lid on my laptop and I
also checked the power options in the control panel and everything seems to
be ok, I dont know whats going on with my laptop and I need somebody to help
me out on this. Help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The way that this problem is explained seems only to lead to Power Option
settings. In control panel make sure that these settings are set to your
convenience. Make sure that the Power Scheme is not set to Always On or
Presentation. Also in the Advanced tab of Power Options make sure the
checkbox for "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" is
checked. This should keep the computer from starting back to your desktop
from Standby.

Hope this helps...
