My incoming mail disappers in outlook 2003

Most of the incoming mails in outlook 2003 seem to disappear the moment they
arrive.

What could cause this problem?
 
Could be Rules Wizard rules (check here: Tools menu > Rules Wizard) or
possibly Junk Mail handling.

After checking junk mail settings I noticed that the option 'Permanently
delete suspected junk e-mail instead of moving it to the Junk E-mail folder'
was enabled.
