Can I let categories works just like it works on outlook2003?

I found this in what changed in outlook 2007 in microsoft web site.

E-mail: Categories
Description: In previous versions of Outlook, categories could arrive on
incoming mail and were automatically reapplied on replies and forwards to
categorized mail. Categories are no longer assigned to incoming mail, and are
not automatically reassigned to replies and forwards.

Reason for change: The new Colored Categories feature makes categories
visually louder. Most users do not want to receive categorized mail, which
they perceive as spam.

our company uses categories to arrange emails in diffrent projects. in
outlook 2007, incoming emails, replied and forworded emails will not be
assigned categories automatically.

Could you please tell me if i can let categories works like it in outlook
2003? or is there other method I can use to categories incoming, replying and
forwording emails?

Thanks a lot! have a great day!

you can use rules to set categories - you can not send messages to others
that are pre-categorized -they need to use rules or apply the category
themsleves.

I unchecked a rule which removes the categories on all incoming emails in
outlook 2007. right now, I can categorize the incoming emails.

Is it a way to assign the categories (equal to the original message) to a
replying or forwarding message automatically ?

Thanks for your help!

No, not natively. Might be able to do it using code.

How do I take 100 records in Outlook all with the Category, "Vendors",
and change them en masse to "Customers"?? Any suggestions? Thank you
for your reply.

select all the customers category items (use a filtered view), r-click and
choose a new category, remove the old one.
