mail merge with Word/Outlook 2007

Is there a way to use the Categories in Outlook as a filter for a Mail Merge
function in Word 2007/2003? The filter function works fine but it doesn't
seem to include the categories. That would be a very useful thing.

Start the merge from Outlook. Select the category and complete the merge to
the selected Contacts.

I have the same issue, and I'm not clear about your response. When you say
"Start the merge from Outlook," what do you mean? I thought you have to
start the merge in Word.

Thank you.
