My Documents missing from My Computer

S

Synapse Syndrome

My Documents has disappeared from My Computer on my laptop. This has
happened before on my desktop computer more than a couple of times over the
years, so this must be a common problem - but I can't find a fix on the web.

note - My Documents is pointing to the default location, but the folder is
empty and a disk separate partition is mounted to that folder in Disk
Management (this is how I usually set my PCs up, but I am mentioning this if
this makes any difference).

Cheers

Hi

I made a new user account, and My Documents does *not* appear in My Computer
again. As that account would have its documents folder in the default
location in C:\Documents and Settings I suppose the fact that I have a
mounted partition has no relevance in this problem.

Do you know what's happening here?

We've no idea without any details but it's sounding like your operating
system installation is somewhat corrupt.
