My Computer - Missing Users' "My Documents" folders

Time Bandit

Hi
I have looked hard for solutions to this but had no luck so far. Deeply
grateful for any help/suggestions.

System:
XP Home edition SP3 - clean install on new hard drive.
5 Users - 1 admin account plus user1, ... , user4 with limited accounts.
Admin and user1 were created during installation others created once system
was up and running.
The default location for each user's My Documents Folder was transferred
from C to a separate partition H, on the same drive. I have not moved the
Shared Documents folder.

Problem:
For user2, ..., user4 My Computer only shows Shared Documents and those of
Admin and user1.

Have tried:
(turning it off and on again!)
Reverting to defaults and back again with restart inbetween.
Hotfix at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/319825 which checks
for users at :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths
- all users are correctly listed here.

Other options:
Maybe something to do with the Desktop.ini folders not giving correct owner
information?
I has been sugested that these could be edited manually but despite turning
on hidden folders I can't find Desktop.ini files.
Could this be something to do with it?

I would be intrigued and delighted to find a solution.
cheers

Hi "Time Bandit"

Try this

Do these steps for each user affected.

Start up affected user

Make sure the My Documents folder is showing on the desktop by either
putting the link there by clicking on
Start\My Documents\Right Click\Show on Desktop
or
Do it through Control Panel\Display\Desktop\Customise Desktop\Under General
tick My Documents

Once the My Documents folder is showing on the desktop, right click, Go to
Properties, Target folder probably says C: drive

Click on move and locate the users My Documents folder on partition H

When asked if this is the location you want to move the My Documents to
agree and the user should now have access to
their information.
