Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with my Epson RX500 Photo Stylus
Printer/Copier/Scanner.
Basically the scan function cuases a "escndv.exe" error every time I try to
scan somethng to file.
I've gone through the the troubleshooting without success and
uninstalled/reinstalled the software a few times on my own from the
original CDs and with the Epson help desk using the updated drivers d/l'd
from their website.
They've basically said it's a computer problem, not a software or Epson
device problem based on the device manager stating their are no
problems/conflicts and because the Device Manager says "The unit is working
properl." I guess it has a different idea of "properly" because to me a
scanner working properly actually scans.
In any case, one clue I may have stumbled on is a message that says the
device is busy... so checking out the USB controllers I see 4 separate USB
host controllers, 4 USB Root Hubs, and a couple other USB controllers.
(picture attached)
1. Is this the way it's supposed to be?
2. Could these USB controllers (which all say they're working normally) be
interfering with the scanner app starting?
3. What happens if I delete all these USB controllers? Will the machine
re-detect all the USB port/devices upon reboot?
Finally, if there are any real expert who are reading this, maybe the
technical details of the error mesage (to which MS has of course not
responded) are also attached.
TIA to anyone who knows a fix or has seen this before...
