multiple fax help please

Dave

Hi, we have been trying to set up outlook 2002, Win XP
Home edition and the Windows XP supplied fax program to
send a fax to multiple contacts. We would like to set
this up so we can fax a Microsoft 2002 word doc to
multiple contacts on an ongoing basis. So far we have
been totally unsucsessful. Do you set up a group or
distribution list to send the fax to? If so how do we do
this? We are using an internal fax modem.
Thanks
Dave

Assuming you aren't trying to do a mail merge, you can either select
multiple recipients at the time you send the fax or use a DL.

DL, I am assuming is a distribution list? Could you please
direct me to a how to setup site or could you give me a
quick explanation of how to do it so we can fax multiple
contacts each week?

Thanks
Dave

File > New > Distribution List
Make sure it contains only Contacts with Fax numbers in Canonical format.

Thanks Russ, what the heck does that mean in English?
Is there a step by step instruction site?

Sorry.
Sure.
I'll assume the DL part is self explanatory. You simply need to populate it
with fax addresses.

The Fax service will not process dialing rules unless the phone number to
which you are sending the fax is in canonical or "international" format.
Details on how to use international format to invoke dialing rules are
available here:
