"mssearch4u" wouldn't go away after repeating scanning and removal

Hello. I only realized the need of anti-spyware yesterday
and downloaded Microsoft Antispyware beta. Even after
scanning and removing detected "threats" a few times, the
unwanted contents in favorites still appear, "mssearch4u"
keeps opening as a home page, and my desktop appears
strange. Please tell me what to do to get rid of this
annoyance!

Q: No matter what I do, it wont remove (insert name of spyware). How do I
get it to?
A: Try running a full system scan at least two times in Safe Mode.
