Hello, I am having a similar error message and saw yours has the same
response. I do not recall what started my error message, but it was 3 days
ago. I think I clicked active X and also installed a Windows Update. Then I
get this "Windows Mail can not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be
initialized . It pops up with a yellow triangle with an explaination point in
it. I can not get in my email either, which by the way is Comcast. I can use
Windows Live, that leads me here.

I have tried doing a recovery and went back a few days, (yesterday) but
today I have spent a few frustrating hours in this area. If anyone can find a
way, please share. I am in my last days of final exams and could possibly
fail, since it is online.
Wishing us all luck with this quirky bug.

*I have ran McAfee virus and all other scans but this was not detected.
Hum....
Hoping your issues are now solved.

Thanks,

Mare22

I don't know what you mean by "I can use Windows Live" since that
name comprises a whole suite of programs, see http://get.live.com .

Your Windows Mail problem is likely due to your antivirus.
McAfee antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Sometimes it takes a while before symptoms start showing up.
First of all, turn off email scanning in McAfee, although that is seldom sufficient.

If the problem continues, the only way you can prove or disprove that
McAfee is the culprit is to uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

If you decide to replace McAfee, we can recommend a free antivirus
program which is more compatible with Windows Mail:

Instead of switching to a different antivirus, another option is to upgrade
to Windows Live Mail (WLM), which is more resistant to the adverse effects
of overly intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Even with WLM, you must disable email scanning in the antivirus,
for the reason explained here:

Reed, I don't see a detailed problem statement from you in this thread,
so I can't be certain you are have the same exact problem as others
have described in this thread.

Are you using any third party security programs?
