MSN Messenger pages not displaying

What causes MSN and other pages not to display, when other webpages
happily display ? The usual restart of router, take out broadband
connection and reconnect etc. resolves it, but is there an easier way
and can anyone put their finger on what really is the cause. It is a
pain having to reset the connectivity every few weeks. When it fails,
even a friends laptop cannot access his own msn messenger account. His
laptop works fine at his house and fine at mine when mine is working,
but when mine fails it also fails for my friend. So it must be
something to do with the ISP getting confused. It's a talktalk
service. Hope you follow this.

If some pages display but others do not, it's unlikely to be a "connection"
issue per se. It COULD be a DNS issue where the name is not resolved to the
correct IP. Since reboot/reset seems to fix the issue, this might be the
case. Have you had your ISP take a look at the modem (assuming you have high
speed Internet rather than dial-up)?
