MSN Messenger 7.5 crashing

R

Hi all,
Since installing the MVPS Hosts file update (20.4.06) my MSN Messenger
7.5 crashed every time I tried to run it.
I temporarily disabled the host file and MSN worked OK so I deleted
everything relating to MSN & it now works. I will just have to put up with
their annoying flashing ads.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
Regards,
Roy.

Roy,

For one, 400k for a Host file is much too big, try this one:
http://www.everythingisnt.com/hosts.html

There are countless MSN ad addresses blocked by the MVPS Host file. Just by
looking at some of the addresses I can see why MSN Messenger is unusable.
The Host file from the link above also blocks some MSN ad sites but is only
40k in size though.
