I have recently installed the new Windows Live Messenger on my computer and I
have experienced some difficulties. I have contacted MSN Messenger online
technical support and they have provided me with the recommendation to
uninstall MSN Messenger 7.5 and Windows Live Messenger prior to
re-installation of Windows Live Messenger 8.0.
Therefore, from the control panel I went to programs management and tried to
run the unstill program to remove MSN Messenger 7.5. After selecting
Uninstall the program runs but after a while a dialog box appears and the
following message is displayed on the monitor:
Ajout/Suppression de programmes
Impossible d'ouvrir ce package correctif. Vérifiez que le package correctif
existe et que vous pouvez y accéder, ou contactez le revendeur de
l'application afin de vérifier que c'est un package correctif Windows
Installer valide.
The message is in French but I don't clearly understand what it means. It
seems that Windows XP is unable to run this package and is asking to verify
if it is a valid Windows Installer package.
In view of the above I would like to know how to successfully remove MSN
Messenger 7.5 on my computer without compromising its performance.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
