Error code 1635 - ?

I installed the ‘Live’ version of MSN Messenger which didn’t seem to agree
with the old Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp2 and my MSN
Explorer which I use to log-in to my Hotmail accounts. I System Restored but
have lost my entire Messenger and email contacts. I have just used the reply
to this email in the hope it would again add the address to my contacts list
but it doesn’t work.
I have tried to reinstall MSN Messenger 7.5 (Build 7.50324) but keep getting
error code 1635. If I click on the green man Messenger icon on MSN Explorer
page the whole PC goes into ultra slow motion – the only way out is to repair
the network connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Andrew

Thanks Brian - you certainly gave me loads to go at there!

Why Oh why do all my problems seem to emulate from upgrading all of my
Microsoft software?

Thanks once again - Andrew
