just got new computer with Window XP and MS Works. just
found out i cannot e=mail my resume (or really it comes
out as jibberish) because i don't have the old Word to
make files "readable" on other people's computer's
Is there any way around this, or do I have to spend more
$ on WORD??

FIDO,
With your version of Works/Word, you should be able to save as a '.doc' and
be on your way.

If you've done your resume w/Word, then its really best to have word on
your new PC.
