Ok I installed xp sp2, and under the Virus protection box. It says that Norton Antivirus reports that it is installed, but its status is unknown.. Everything in Norton Reports that it is ok.

Why doesnt it show up??

SP 2 is discussed in the SP 2 newsgroups

and in particular AV detection is discussed over and over.
