MP3 player formating

Andy

Hi,

I have a slight problem involving my mp3 player,

For reasons beyond my control it has decided that it
needs to be re-formatted,

After looking in the manual it tells me it needs to be
formatted by FAT or FAT16

after right clicking on the removable drive and selecting
format, it gives me no option to format by FAT or FAT16,
so I tried just formatting it the normal way, but as
expected, this didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

XP does not allow formatting with FAT/FAT16. You will need to contatc the
MP3 player manufacturer so as to see what you can does with it in XP.

try to check if your device have any switch that lock it from being formatted(or written) or for read only. i have seen some that have this kind of lock, and you have to set it to unlock for write. btw, what err msg you get

cheers, C
