reformatting SD card to original state ??

A

Andy100

I bought an mp3 player the other day (Archos Ondio 128) which would use the
same SD card my digital camera uses. However, my camera seems to have done
some formatting to the SD card which i cannot reset.

When i use the SD card in the mp3 player I get error message 'File System
Error No valid FAT16/32 file system found Please Format drive'. I have
done this in WinXP to FAT and FAT32, but no luck.

How do i go about reformatting the SD card back to its original state when
purchased, as i think that might be the problem here ? Is there any software
to do this ??

Cheers

SD cards will not work

Is the Ondio compatible with Secure Digital (SD) cards?
No. Although the Ondio's USB bridge electronics happen to be
compatible with SD cards, the Ondio itself is not compatible with SD cards
A: .

Q: What type of memory card does the Ondio require for memory
expansion?
A: Your Ondio has a built-in capacity of 128 MB (Flash memory). If you
would like to expand that capacity, you can purchase a Multimedia Memory
Card (MMC) which slides into the right side of the Ondio. These cards
currently have capacities of upto 128 MB of storage space and perhaps larger
as manufacturers are constantly increasing the storage capacity of these
tiny cards.

: How do I reformat my Ondio?
A: 1. Power on your computer.

2. Connect the USB cable to the Ondio and to your computer.

3. Power on the Ondio.

4. Locate the Ondio drive in My Computer.

5. Right click the drive and select Format.

6. Specify FAT as the file system (not FAT32!) and proceed with the
format.

7. Your Ondio will now operate correctly.
