Movie maker does not store my project

Hi,

I have big problem with movie maker. I have tryed everything I can think of
and searched the micsoft pages and even googled, but nothing I have found
seem to work. Hope someone here can help.

My problem:
In sort, movie maker does not store my project. When I do File -> Save
Project As, nothing happens. No matter what I have done with MM so far,
whether I have made a movie or whether I try to store absolutely empty
project.

MM, does allow publishing "in this computer".

I have tryed a lot of different solutions, but nothing seems to work,
including:
- removing all other video player software that I would think could disturb
MM somehow e.g. Pinnacle PCTV, ffdshow.....
- clean boot (as instructed in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796)
- installed all thinkable updates to everything (windows, NVIDIA drivers etc)

I have Windows Vista (32bit) home premium with SP1

CPU is AMD 64 x2 5000+ 2.60 GHz (Windows Experience rating 4.8)

I'm getting desperate as I am not able to put any movies I've made to DVD
(home videos which I have shoot myself I.e. not from any ready made source,
which could have copyprotection or something like that)

Any ideas or support would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you,
Kimmo

OK...you import your source files and drag
them to the Timeline...then after editing...you
go to...File / Save Project As...or press F12...
and "Nothing" happens? Are you saying you
do not see the "Save Project As" screen?

Yes, that is what mean.

Same thing happens if:
- I try to "publish movie as DVD", then MM wants to save the project, close
MM and start DVD maker, but nothing happens... just the "publish movie"
window closes
- I try to close MM. The MM asks "do you want to save project", if I answer
"yes", then nothing happens. The only way to close MM is to answer "no" to
question about saving the project

Thank you,
Kimmo

Sounds like your system may not be adequate
to run Vista Movie Maker 6.

Have you tried running Vista Movie Maker 2.6?
