Movie Maker and Firewire

Is it possible to use MM with firewire? If so, what options or settings do I
need to communicate the fact that I have a camcorder set input via my
firewire port?
 
Movie Maker prefers firewire... you don't need to do anything except connect
the camcorder and turn it on in the VCR/VTR (playback) mode....

then, if your options to capture don't include Movie Maker, open Movie Maker
and opt to capture... the camcorder should be a choice
