Hi,

Every time I log back into windows I have to adjust my mouse speed. The
computer does not "remember" the speed settings.

It is an HP tc4200.

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem. If yoy already have a solution let me
know please.
Thanx
Ed

Hi,

No solution as yet.

Still keen to get one though, if anyone can help!

Sorry Elmo,
This doesn't solve my (our) problem.
If you have any other options please let us know....

Here are a few suggestions I found with a Google Groups search:

- Check out the permissions for the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse

Make sure that the account you are using has full control to this key.

- TweakUI has a mouse settings section. If you have it, it may be
conflicting with the standard CP settings.

- You can continue the search through the Google archived posts here:
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=remember+mouse+settings&start=10&sa=N&

I had such hopes that the registry change would work. It didn't though, I
already had administrator permissions. So it did not fix it.

The comp runs Synaptics for the mouse, do you see any harm in me
reinstalling this, presuming I can download it from somewhere?

Here's a Google Groups search on the "Synaptics Mouse". Change the
parameters to zero in on the problem..

The driver might be one of these:

And here's a troubleshooter article on your problem:
