Change write speed of CD-RW drive?

A year or so ago, I was backing up my Dell PC to slow speed CD-RW disks.
I remember I adjusted the write speed of my CD-RW drive so that it
would work with those cheap disks. But now I've got faster disks
(4-12x), and I would like to restore the write speed back to its higher
setting.

I forgot how to do that. Can anybody help?

That would be application related and I do not see listed here what
application you are using to write your CDs with.
Most decent CD/DVD writing applications allow you to adjust each time you
burn a CD.

Right-click drive, Properties, Recording if you're using Windows native
software.
