Mouse setting is NOT permanent

I am left handed on using mouse. But Windows Vista has no memory about my
mouse settings --- everytime after reboot, it goes back to right-handed mouse
with default sensitivity setting.

Are you using the same method in this tutorial?

If you are, you might check to see is there is a newer version for
your mouse drivers.

I have two mice --- one is Logitech wireless mouse and second is Dell
optical mouse. I've updated drivers, including using Windows update and also
downloading the newest driver from Logitech. I also tried to plug in a mouse
at a time. None of these helps.

I tried to uninstall Logitech's SetPoint software (driver is bundled). It
had no effect on fixing the problem. I didn't try to uninstall the other one,
because Dell's optical mouse is using the driver called "HID-compliant
mouse", which probably came with Windows Vista.
