Mouse scrolls on it own occasionally.

Hi all.

I have a MS optical wired wheelmouse. The latest drivers are
instaled. Occasionally, no matter what program I'm running, the
effect of scrolling the wheel occurs. Without the wheel being
touched!

In Games this may mean changing a weapon unexpecedly. In Word the
page will suddenly scroll, etc. Not the end of the world but
annoying.

As it happens on many different applications, I guess it's a windows
or hardware problem. But, How Do I Find It???

Any [sensible] tips gratefully recieved. Thanks.
