Where is it that I can change the settings for the different buttons on
my mouse? Its not where I'd expect it to be: control panel/mouse.

Depends on your mouse. If it is Microsoft, then you want MS
Intellipoint software(download from MS). If it is Logitech, then it
would probably be Logitech Mouseware software, etc, depending on the
the model of the mouse. Normally, you'd receive the appropriate
software when you purchase the mouse.

We judge others by our own limitations.

In addition to what bxf posted, once the mouse software is installed the
extra options for configuring buttons are *usually* integrated into the
Control Panel> Mouse settings. If you can't find them there, then look in
Control Panel (classic view) for an icon other than "Mouse" or
alternatively, look in the start menu for a shortcut to these settings.
