Clean the 3 mouse rollers.

three mouse rollers ? I seem to have just one rubber ball in the
centre of this mouse, that i see at the moment, are the three rollers
hidden inside the mouse...?
thanks

Yes, you need to remove the rubber ball and you will see three rollers,
probably very dirty rollers.

There's a plastic ring around the ball. You should be able to twist
that ring, which will then drop out. Then the ball will also drop out.
Clean it, then look inside the mouse. There are two small cylindrical
rods. It will probably look like there is a non-skid track of some
kind around the center of each one. Actually, that's compacted dust
and crud, and you need to clean it out.

There's also a small wheel. It's spring-loaded and its only job is to
press the ball against the two rods (one rod measures horizontal
movement, the other measures vertical movement). The wheel needs to be
cleaned too, though it's not as critical and probably won't be as
dirty.

Yes, two large and one small one. Use your fingernail to scrape off the
mouse crud.

thank you ,Tim that is good information...

now I am on the right track...(no pun intended ;-)

What! I just trimmed my fingernails...
now what do I use?

Wait four weeks for them to grow back, then clean your mouse.
Sheesh, do I have to think for everyone?
