Start by unplugging the transceiver.
Now from Add/Remove programs in Control Panel uninstall "Microsoft
IntelliPoint
4.9" and/or "Microsoft IntelliType Pro 2.3". If prompted to reboot do so then
Uninstall "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) [See Q323183 for more information]".
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems
that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee
that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor
incorrectly. Use
Registry Editor at your own risk.
(So first create a System Restore point)
- Click Start, and then click Run, In the Open box, type regedit. Click OK.
NOTE: To delete certain registry keys the permissions must be changed. To do
this
Right click the key and choose Permissions, then for the user EVERYONE check
Allow
Full control.
Then remove any Bluetooth devices left in the Enum Registry Keys. Delete
these
keys.

Leave this key, it cannot be deleted due to an inability to change the
permissions
for the "CREATOR OWNER" account which has it locked.

Reboot the computer.
Now in a Clean Boot (MS services only) using MSConfig reinstall the
Bluetooth stack
from <CD>:\Prereq\BthStack\enu\q323183_wxp_sp2_x86_enu.exe.
Then while still in a Clean Boot install IntelliPoint and/or IntelliType
software
per the original instructions. When everything is working set system back to
a
Normal startup and double check Bluetooth functionality.
Note it might be beneficial to remove the BTH.INF from the C:\Windows\Inf
folder as
well as the INFCACHE.1 file. This will alleviate any potential corrupted INF
issues

system restore and ever since then, I've had a problem with the mouse.
Everything seems to be ok now but for some reason, the mouse doesn't get
recognized when the PC gets booted up. In fact, it doesn't even light up.
The mouse is a Microsoft USB optical. The touch pad still works ok. After
bootup, if I unplug the mouse and then plug it back in, it will light up and
begin to work normally. Or, if I boot up a 2nd time, the mouse then works
ok. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?
