Mouse Pointer Disappears

Occasionally, my mouse pointer is no where to be found after booting.
Rebooting corrects this. I have tried a couple of different mice, but
problem still occurs randomly. Also reinstalled OS (WinXP Home). Any ideas
as to the cause of this?

There might be an IRQ address conflict between your mouse
and your other hardware devices.

Or the mouse socket on your computer is faulty.
